RYA / MCA Yachtmaster

Preparation course – Saturday to Wednesday. A Yachtmaster needs a wealth of knowledge, not only to cope with plain sailing but also to be able to cope when things don’t go to plan. Therefore, Hot Liquid offers a five day Yachtmaster preparation course prior to the exam. During this course our relaxed and fun professional instructors will discover your strengths and weaknesses and develop your skills and confidence. Teaching you how to handle a yacht in more demanding situations under sail and power. During the five days you will visit many of the Solent’s harbours and rivers to explore them night and day and at different states of tide. The only way to gain confidence is by practice, particularly at night when skill is required in picking out navigation lights and buoys. You will practice advanced navigational techniques and our instructors will make sure you can take command of the vessel in any condition. It is essential that you have completed the RYA Coastal Skipper / Yachtmaster shorebased course or equivalent knowledge prior to completing this course. Please click here for Course Dates. Our training yachts are modern and comfortable Bavaria 36s. They are 37' in length and can sleep up to 8 people in 4 cabins. However for personal comfort and in line with RYA guidelines we do not exceed 5 students per course.
